Book an AppointmentGuidance before your PGT-M journey
At Bnoon, we provide genetic counselling before starting the PGT-M process. During this visit, our team will explain the PGT journey step by step and confirm the most appropriate testing approach for your family.
How does it work?
To prepare for PGT-M, blood samples are typically required from both partners and, when applicable, an affected child or family member. These samples are used for pre-PGT testing to develop a customized test for the specific genetic condition (this preparation phase usually takes 6–8 weeks). Once the test is ready, our coordinator will contact you to schedule your appointment and begin the IVF cycle.
PGT-M is performed as part of an IVF cycle. Multiple eggs are stimulated and retrieved, then fertilized in our embryology laboratory. This allows embryos to develop in the lab, after which an embryo biopsy is performed. One or more cells (or a small group of cells, depending on the stage) are carefully removed and analyzed for the pre-identified genetic condition. The goal is to identify embryos that are not affected by the targeted genetic disorder, supporting the couple's chance of achieving a healthy pregnancy.
In many cases, embryos are frozen while results are completed (typically 1–2 weeks), and an embryo transfer is planned in a future cycle.
Important note: Informed consent is required before treatment and must be completed according to clinic policy and applicable regulations.
